CARING FOR WOUNDS

Many patients overlook the importance of caring for wounds, but even the most minor wounds require medical care and attention to heal properly.


Wounds include cuts, scrapes, stitches, pressure ulcers, and punctured skin. These wounds are usually caused by accidents, pressure points or surgery. PruCare Home Health Wound Care Program provides specialized quality care to ensure the healing process is managed properly to get patients back on their feet. Our nursing and home health staff has been formally trained on caring for all types of wounds.

  • RN assessment of wound status
  • RN assessment for wound vac/treatment plan
  • Collaboration with wound care centers
  • Assessment of lab values
  • Assessment of pressure reducing equipment needs
  • Lower and upper extremities and circulation analysis

  • Photos on admission and weekly review
  • Physician follow up
  • Assessment of wound for infection and other complications at each visit
  • Weekly wound measurement
  • Physician notification within 4-7 days if no change in wound healing
